What does working together look like?

Birth

As your birth doula, we will meet twice prenatally, for about 2 hours each visit, to discuss your hopes, goals, anxieties, etc. around birth and postpartum.

Starting at 38 weeks, I am on call for your birth and available whenever labor begins. Once active labor is established, I join you and provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support through the birth of your baby. Following delivery, I remain with your family during the golden hour to support bonding, feeding, and recovery. A postpartum visit during your first few weeks at home is also included to help you navigate your transition into parenthood with confidence.

You have access to me from the time the contract is signed, up until 6 weeks postpartum for phone, email, and text support.

Postpartum

Daytime care is about easing your transition and supporting you as you’re learning all about your newborn baby. This may include:

  • Light housekeeping
  • Some meal prep
  • Infant care
  • Newborn education
  • Infant feeding support
  • Emotional support

The goal of nighttime doula care is to maximize the amount of sleep you’re getting, while knowing your baby is being cared for throughout the night. The supportive tasks of nighttime care are similar to daytime, with the main focus being infant care and soothing.
